Nothing new or revealing

This book started well with the history of the Templar Knights, however when it got to the trial, confessions and executions, it became a monotonous drone of the same words over and over. Aside from learning the Templars received absolution for their alleged crimes, this book offered nothing new to me.

Grishin presents a well developed and reasonable alternate to the trails of the Knights Templar that shed light on their innocence. I found the book very interesting and enjoyable. I want to learn more about the life and times of the knights Templar.

Great Study of the Knights Templar

Excellent book! A great introduction to the history of this Knightly Order, as well as an excellent analysis of the trial and conviction of many of its members for heresy. Absolution gives a well-rounded look at what it was that made the Templar's so powerful, and what led to their eventual downfall. Also, contains an excellent translation of the Chinon Parchment.
